Air defenses intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile and a drone launched by the Houthis toward southern Saudi Arabia, Saudi-led Coalition spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Malki said on Sunday.

Al-Malki also announced a targeted operation against key resources used by the Houthis to support their war effort.

Majed Abdullah Al-Nuzaili, spokesperson for Yemen’s internationally recognized armed forces, said government forces carried out 1,272 strikes over the past 24 hours. He claimed the operations “neutralized” around 500 Houthi field commanders and fighters and destroyed or damaged 169 vehicles, pieces of equipment, and heavy weapons.

Meanwhile, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree claimed Saudi forces carried out 75 air and missile strikes over the past 24 hours across Saada, Taiz, Amran, Ibb, Dhamar, Lahj, Hodeidah, and Al-Jawf. He alleged that civilian sites were targeted and that civilians were killed and injured, adding that Saudi strikes since the latest escalation had reached 3,830.

Houthi-affiliated Al-Masirah also reported two Saudi strikes on Ras Issa port in Hodeidah, artillery shelling in the border district of Al-Dhahir, and an attack on the road linking Lahj and Taiz in Al-Maqatirah district, which it said cut the road and damaged nearby homes. The outlet separately said two civilians were injured when Saudi-backed forces targeted homes in Taiz’s Hayfan district.
