Shafaq News / The Independent High Electoral Commission began, on Thursday, the implementation of the first steps in preparing for the early parliamentary elections that are scheduled to be held next June.

In a statement received by Shafaq News agency, the commission said that the head of the electoral administration, Ahlam Al Jabri, is directly following up with the departments of the provincial offices to achieve the next six-month plan developed by the Commission, in preparation for the upcoming elections following the international standards.

Al-Jabri confirmed, "the necessity of opening registration centers throughout Iraq after obtaining the approval of the concerned authorities, to resume the distribution of the biometric electronic voter card; and the need to operate mobile teams to reach voters in remote areas.

Al-Jabri called the administration of the provincial offices to, "cooperate and coordinate with UNHCR partners, civil society organizations, popular activities and media outlets, as they have an effective role in educating voters".
