Iran says 7M ready to take up arms

Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Thursday that seven million Iranians have volunteered to take up arms, signaling readiness for a potential ground confrontation with the United States.
“We are armed, prepared, and steadfast,” Ghalibaf said in a statement, adding that while Iran does not seek war, “every citizen will become a soldier” if the country is attacked.
The developments follow comments by US President Donald Trump, who said Washington has made significant progress in the war and could end military operations within two to three weeks, with core objectives “nearly achieved.”
