New CCHF case confirmed in Iraq’s Nineveh

A 47-year-old woman from Shekhan district in northern Nineveh has tested positive for Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF), a source at the provincial Health Directorate told Shafaq News on Saturday.
Nineveh has so far recorded 19 CCHF infections in 2026, according to a Shafaq News tracker, bringing Iraq’s nationwide total to 166 cases and 11 deaths.
