Shafaq News / The Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Bashir Al-Haddad, stipulated, on Tuesday, providing all legislative, financial and technical requirements, imposing state prestige and ending the file of the displaced, to ensure the success of the early parliamentary elections in the country.

Al-Haddad said in a statement received by Shafaq News agency, "setting the date for holding the elections is one of the first tasks of the government", stressing, "the importance of creating the appropriate atmosphere for the parliamentary elections and supporting the demands of the public in achieving transparency and credibility in the upcoming elections".

Al-Haddad added, "all legislative, financial and technical requirements must be provided to ensure the success of these elections", including the management of the files of displacement, security breakdown and arms control.

The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, welcomed earlier today, the prime minister's proposal for the date of early elections, calling on Parliament to complete the election law as soon as possible and submit it to the Presidency of the Republic for approval and implementation.

The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, announced last Friday that the parliamentary elections will be held on June 6, 2021, pledging to provide international supervision over the electoral process.

Al-Kadhimi's announcement of the date of the elections was welcomed by the international community that pledged to work for its success. However, the positions of the political blocs are still vague and divided over the date and the mechanism for elections.
