Blackout hits Kurdistan as grid collapses

A technical fault triggered a full power outage across Iraq’s Kurdistan Region on Wednesday, the regional electricity ministry said.
The blackout was caused by a failure in transmission lines, cutting electricity across the network.
Technical teams are investigating the cause and working to restore supply, with power expected to return within hours.
