An Iraqi officer killed by drugs gang in Basra

Shafaq News / An Iraqi officer was killed and three police members were injured on Sunday, after shooting them by a drug-trafficking gang in Basra, southern Iraq.

A security source told Shafaq News that after midnight a detachment belonging to Basra Drugs Department had the duty to arrest a drug gang in Yassin Khorebet area and they were subjected to gunfire by the gang.

He added that the accident resulted in the death of an officer , members in the drugs department, in addition to an element in the emergency regiment.
