Shafaq News / The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani met on Monday Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) negotiating delegation to Baghdad.

According to the information received, Barzani will meet this afternoon with the delegation headed by Talabani to observe the outcome of the negotiations with Iraqi officials on the differences and outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad.

KRG delegation negotiated in Baghdad on Friday that it had agreed with the federal government to form two committees to resolve the financial and oil differences between the two sides.

The Iraqi government had decided last month to cut the salaries of employees of Kurdistan Region after it said that the region had not fulfilled its obligations in the financial budget represented by the delivery of 250 thousand barrels of oil per day to the federal government.

The agreement includes the delivery of Kurdistan Region, the amount of 250 thousand barrels per day of oil to the federal government, in return for handing Baghdad a share of about 13 % of the budget to the region in addition to the salaries of employees and Peshmerga.

KRG confirms its commitment to the agreement concluded with Baghdad on the financial budget.

The cut in the salaries of the region's employee’s sparked widespread criticism inside and outside the region, as observers considered that this decision came in the context of political pressure coinciding with the efforts to form the Iraqi government.

There are pending issues between the two sides for many years, most promenint is the disputed territories, how to manage oil wealth, the budget of the Peshmerga forces, and others.
