KRG reassures people: Food shortages will not happen

Shafaq News / The Minister of Planning of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Dara Rashid, reassured residents in the region on Tuesday that there will be no shortage of fuel and food due to the outbreak of Corona virus in Iran, the country bordering Iraq.

"We assure the citizens that there will be no shortage of fuel and food," Rashid said in a statement to reporters today, prior the regional council of minister’s meeting in Erbil.

The customs authorities in Kurdistan Region decided to prohibit the entry of Iranian drivers and their trucks to the region, while the cargo loads will be unloaded in Iraqi vehicles on the borders between the two sides, as part of the preventive measures to prevent the transmission of Corona virus after its spread in Iran.
