Iraq’s Saladin Council names Haitham Al-Zahwan Governor

Saladin Provincial Council on Thursday elected Haitham al-Zahwan as the new head of the local government, replacing former governor Badr al-Fahal, who has joined Iraq’s parliament.
According to Shafaq News correspondent, al-Zahwan secured nine votes during the election session, while the remaining contenders received no votes.
