COVID-19: Kurdistan sets a new record in the daily case count

Shafaq News / The Ministry of Health in Kurdistan Region announced, on Tuesday, that it registered 653 new cases of COVID-19 today which is the highest daily case count since registering the first case in the region in March of the current year.

 

In a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, the ministry said that it had conducted 3030 examinations during the past 24 hours, of which 653 turned positive. The positive cases were distributed as follows: 398 in Erbil, 60 in Al-Sulaymaniyah, 25 Garmyan, 66 in Raperin, 88 in Duhok and 16 in Halabja.

 

The Ministry also registered 171 recovery cases, distributed as follows: 95 in Erbil, 38 in Garmyan, 30 in Duhok and 8 in Halabja.

 

13 patients passed away from the complications of the disease; including 9 in Erbil, 3 in Al-Sulaymaniyah and one death in Halabja.

 

Since the outbreak of the virus, 18,200 patients have contracted the virus in Kurdistan Region; 10,480 have recovered and 670 passed away.
