Shafaq News/ A representative of Nineveh in the Iraqi parliament lambasted caretaker Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi's "grandstanding" in Nineveh earlier today, Saturday, denouncing his visit as a "disappointment" to the people of the war-ravaged governorate.

The outgoing premier arrived in Nineveh's capital city, Mosul, this morning and held a series of meetings with government officeholders, security commanders, and legislators in the city.

Lawmaker Nayef al-Shammari expressed discontent with al-Kadhimi's visit who "only convened with corrupt bureaucrats and offered empty promises."

"Instead of laying the foundation stone of the Mosul Airport, that would have taken less than an hour of his time, he said that it will happen four months from today," the lawmaker said.

"On many occasions, we addressed al-Kadhimi and presented dozens of documents that prove the corruption of Nineveh's health directorate. However, he has chosen to meet with the officeholders there with a grin on his face, ignoring thr agony of thousands of negligence and corruption victims."

"We also demanded he address the gasoline crisis, but he did not mention it at all," al-Shammari said.

"What al-Kadhimi did in Nineveh was a grandstanding tour and useless meetings for the sake of a few pictures," he continued.
