Shafaq News / Iraqi parliament failed to pass the electoral districts paragraph in the new election law due to disagreements between the political blocs.

Today's, Saturday, session was mainly dedicated to resolving this paragraph, which has been controversial for many months.

Parliament postponed the vote on this paragraph until Saturday, October 10, due to the continuing disagreements over it between the political blocs, according to Shafaq News agency reporter.

The session was bumpy even before it's beginning, as it started four hours late from the scheduled time due to the lack of quorum. Moreover, MPs of Al-Fatah and the State of Law blocs withdrew from the session, while some MPs of the aforementioned blocs did not flow their blocs' flow. The disagreement prevails over whether a single governorate will be divided into one or multiple electoral districts. The passage of the new law constitutes the main dilemma facing early elections, which are scheduled to take place on the sixth of next June.
