Al-Duloiya is free of terrorism
Shafaq News / The Kaimakam of Al-Duloiya district, south of Saladin Hamza Riyad, confirmed today, Friday, that the Metebije threats has disappeared.
The Metebije border crossing between Diyala and Saladin is considered the most dangerous hideouts of ISIS due to the geographical nature that enabled ISIS gangs to take it as a safe place to launch attacks in the areas of Diyala and Kirkuk.
In his speech to Shafaq News Agency, Riyad said, "The recent security operations carried out by the security forces kept Al- Duloiya away from the threats,” pointing “the entire area of the district is being secured by the security forces.”
Riyad stated that emergency police forces are deployed on the banks of Al-Azim riverbanks.
Al- Duloiya is a town located 80 km north of the capital, Baghdad, and has a population of about 55,000
ISIS took control of parts of the town in June 2014 before the security forces and Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi were able to liberate it at the end of December of the same year.
