Shafaq News / When Mohammad got the text message offering him 10 million dollars; he thought it was a “cyber-attack."

The messages were in text messages form from private number on the mobile phones, and then their receipts published them on twitter and telegram.

Mohammad, who preferred to be anonymous, said that the text messages sent in Persian saying “USA will pay up to 10 million $ for any information about foreign interference in the American elections."

Neither the US State Department nor the White House's National Security Council commented on the text messages issues.

On Wednesday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo declared “the USA is offering 10 million dollars for information leading to the identification or location of any person who, acting at the direction or under the control of a foreign government, interferes with U.S. elections by engaging in certain criminal cyber activities".

In addition, Nariman Gharib, of cyber security group Certfa, said he learned of the messages when recipients in Iran approached him privately.

He pointed out that the texts put people inside Iran in danger.
