Draft amendment to ensure the Kurdish participation

Shafaq News / the judicial authorities of Baghdad and Erbil discussed amending the Federal Court’s law so the Kurdish Judicial Council participates in nominating its members.

A statement by the Judiciary Media received by Shafaq News agency stated that, "The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Fayeq Zaidan, received today, the head of the Kurdistan Region Council, Judge Bangin Qassem, Minister of Justice, Firsat Ahmed, and KRG representative to Baghdad, Faris Issa."

He added, "Judge Zaidan discussed with the Kurdish delegation the draft amendment to the Federal Court law in order to allow the region's judiciary council to participate in nominating the president and members of the court in its new formation."
