Shafaq News/ The Federal Commission for Integrity said it apprehended two senior officials in the northern Umm Qasr port for charges related to corruption.

In a statement issued earlier today, Saturday, the Investigations department in the Commission said that it arrested the administrator of the port, who holds the rank of a Brigadier-General, for receiving bribes in exchange for illegally facilitating the passage of cargo trucks. The security forces seized the sums he charged for this deed and other funds of an unknown source.

Both arrests were carried out in accordance with arrest warrants issued by the Judiciary, according to the statement. A preliminary report of the arrests, the arrestees, and the sums seized in both operations were presented before the competent Magistrate, who decided to detain them for investigation.
