Families refuse to return to their village

Shafaq News / A leader in Al-Hashd in Diyala confirmed, on Monday, that many families who were displaced from the borders of Al-Azim district, Saladin refuse to return to their areas.

Muhammad Ibrahim Dhaifan told Shafaq News agency, "34 families were displaced from the Al-Hitaween border village with Saladin governorate refused to go back to their due to the danger and attacks of ISIS organization," indicating that "earlier, ISIS killed four people in the village."

Dhaifan added that "the displaced families asked to return with military reinforcements to face any possible terrorist attacks or exposures," adding that "the security leaders are working to secure the village for a safe return."

Al-Azim district, 60 km north of Baqubah, is one of the security hotspots and witnesses constant exposures from the borders of Metebije, between Diyala and Saladin, which is considered the largest stronghold of ISIS and al-Qaeda in the past.
