Iraq announces reaching lowest oil exports’ level
“The slowdown is due to the maintenance and expansion work in the southern exports ,” Jihad said in a statement received by “Shafaq News “.
The average of Iraqi oil exports reached 2.579 million barrels per day in August.
Jihad said that his country expects a significant increase in exports in October that compensated it form the shipments that it had lost it in September due to maintenance work in the southern ports .
He pointed out that after the expansion process, export’s capacity will increase from Basra ports to more than 4.5 million barrels per day. Expansion work is expected to be completed this month.
The average of selling price of a barrel of Iraqi crude reached 104 $ in September.
Among 2.07 million barrels per day exported by Iraq in September , 1.821 million barrels have been shipped a day from Basra and 244 thousand barrels per day have been pumped through pipeline that extends from the oil fields of Kirkuk to the Turkish port of Ceyhan as well as five thousand barrels per day transported to Jordan by truck .
