Shafaq News / The World Health Organization (WHO) expressed its "serious concern" over the increase in COVID-19 infections in Iraq and three other Arab countries.

WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, Ahmed Al-Mandhari, said, "COVID-19 has reduced the effectiveness of health services in the eastern Mediterranean region", adding, "the recent increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in this region raises serious concern".

"The number of cases increases every day, and the significant increase in the number of cases in some countries such as Iraq, Morocco, Tunisia and the UAE raises great concern and highlights the urgent need to take stricter measures. Although, this surge was expected".
